My name is Crystal Clarke — I draw animals from the heart, capturing not just their form but the deep, soulful connection we feel with them. Each piece begins with hand-drawn pastel originals and is made into fine art prints and premium greeting cards meant to be cherished, displayed, and shared.
Animals have always been part of my inner world. I was either drawing them or spending time with them — family pets, animals belonging to friends or strangers we’d just met, watching wildlife, studying documentaries, and later working in veterinary clinics. With animals, I felt understood in a way that never needed words. That feeling never left.
Today, I’m an award-winning pastel artist creating deeply realistic animal portraits that go beyond likeness.
My work isn’t about decoration — it’s about presence.
That quiet pause when an animal’s gaze meets yours, and something inside you softens.
From my cozy studio in the woods of Moonstone, Ontario, I work slowly and with intention, building each piece layer by layer to honour the strength, vulnerability, and soul animals bring into our lives.
