There is a quiet grace to a giraffe that no photograph quite captures — the long lashes, the soft doe eyes, the unhurried way she takes in the world.
Stretch and See is an original pastel painting built in multiple layers of PanPastel, then finished with pastel pencils for high contrast and depth. Hidden undertones of raw umber warm the contrasting blacks and whites, giving the piece an intimacy that reveals itself slowly. The dark wood-grained frame and triple matting were chosen to let the artwork breathe without competing with it.
