The Series that was Meant-to-be

Three stories of finding light when the world goes dim.

This series took years to unfold — not because I wasn’t ready to create it,

but because it wasn’t ready to be born yet.
Each story, each emotion, each piece arrived in its own time.
And now, finally, they are ready to be told

A portion of every Original Pastel from the Strength & Softness collection will be donated to the Women’s College Hospital Foundation — supporting women’s health and wellness in Canada.

There’s a tenderness inside every kind of strength — the part that still feels, still believes, still hopes.
That’s what these pieces were born from.

Each one is a reflection of what it means to fall apart and rebuild; to carry the weight of life and still choose gentleness.

It’s a reminder that softness isn’t weakness — it’s what gets us through.

These originals were created during a season of surrender and rebuilding.
They carry the quiet strength of resilience, the beauty of healing, and the stillness that comes after the storm.

Searching for Answers

THE FIRST PIECE

Original polar bear artwork

The Piece

This piece started online — filmed, time-lapsed, shared in little flashes of progress — until one day, it asked for silence.

It wanted to grow without eyes watching.

That’s when I stepped back.

Earlier this year, when everything felt heavy — financially, physically, spiritually — I realized I needed to slow down.
To stop chasing, stop comparing, and return to the quiet things that make me whole.
Walks in nature.
Moments of stillness.
Listening again.

And on one of those walks, a whisper came:
“Move in faith. Not in fear.”
That became my compass.

This piece carries that same energy — the shift from searching to trusting, from being lost to knowing the light’s still ahead.

You're Not Alone

THE SECOND PIECE

Original penguin artwork

The Piece

At first, this drawing had penguins everywhere — crowds filling the page.
But the more I worked, the more I realized: more isn’t always better.

Sometimes, being surrounded by people can still feel lonely.

So I began to erase.
To simplify.
To leave only what mattered: two little penguins being watched over by their parent.

Because connection isn’t about numbers — it’s about depth.

The few who see you, steady you, and walk beside you.
This piece is a reminder that you don’t need a crowd.

You just need your people — even if it’s only one.

Light After Darkness

THE THIRD PIECE

WEB VERSION arctic fox.jpg

The Piece

This one took the longest.
But isn’t that how healing always works?

It’s the slow climb out of the dark.
The daily choice to look up.
The courage to believe the light will come — even when you can’t feel it yet.

I kept returning to it, again and again, trying to find the right balance between shadow and glow.

Just enough darkness to feel true, just enough light to remind you: it gets better.

This piece represents the moment you feel the first warmth break through the clouds — the memory that makes you smile again, the tiny spark that says,
“You’re still here. You’re still becoming. You're going to be okay.”
