When Art Finds It's Forever Home

Some pieces fly off the wall.
They speak so clearly, so loudly, that someone sees them and just knows—that one. That’s the one.
And if you’re lucky, you get to witness the whole thing unfold.
That’s the incredible beauty of social media and being on CC’s List—you already know the story behind the piece, the moment that inspired it.
You’ve watched it come to life, stroke by careful stroke.
You feel the alignment.
It’s magic.
And you know—deeply and truly—that the piece was meant to be in your life.
So you scoop it up, and you cherish it forever.
But not all pieces find their people right away.
Some stay with you for months.
Or years.
Or, in the case of a long-necked, long-loved giraffe named Stretch and See—nearly a decade.

That piece has been with me since 2017.
We’ve done shows together. Moved from place to place. Lived through love, loss, and parenthood. Entire seasons of life.
And in all that time, people have admired it. Complimented it. Smiled at it.
But no one claimed it.
Not until now.
Stretch and See just sold at the Art Gallery of Burlington.
And it’s… hard to describe the feeling.
There’s joy, of course. Deep joy.
Because finally, finally, this piece I poured so much of myself into has found its forever home.
But there’s also that little ache.
That softness in the chest.
Because when something stays with you that long, it becomes part of your world. Part of your studio. Part of your story.
And still—this is why I do what I do.
Art is meant to live on walls that see it.
To land in homes and hearts that feel something when they pass by.
So this is just a little love note to say:
If you’ve ever adopted one of my pieces, thank you.
If one has called to you across a room and you said yes, thank you.
And if you’re still waiting for your piece to show up, keep your eyes open. These things have a way of finding you when the time is right.
With a full heart,
Crystal
