The Way Home is a collection of birds, but really—it’s a collection of moments we all need more of.
Every piece started with a photograph by the wonderful Donna Feledichuk a fellow Canadian and magic-maker behind the lens.
I chose the ones that tugged at something in my chest—that small, unmistakable pull that says this one matters.
And then I drew. Slowly. With reverence and a pile of pastel dust in my lap.
These birds aren’t just birds. They’re symbols of what carries us: stillness, resilience, softness, and the courage to begin again.
They’re reminders we didn’t know we needed.
And if one of them feels like it already belongs with you? That’s no accident.
"Sometimes the way home isn’t a place—it’s a feeling"
-Crystal Clarke

'Room to Breathe'
The Piece
This piece is a pause.
A quiet reminder that you're allowed to slow down, soften your edges, and simply… breathe.
Three ducklings glide gently across the water, their reflections trailing behind them. The space around them isn’t empty—it’s intentional. It's the exhale. The moment before the next step.
“Room to Breathe” isn’t just about ducklings—it’s about you. About making space in your life for stillness, softness, and the kind of peace that finds you when you finally stop chasing it.

'Resilience'
The Piece
You are stronger than you know—especially when life gets heavy. Even in the quiet, you hold your own.
This little blue jay, perched on a snow-laced branch, is all feathered determination. Not flashy, not loud. Just steady in the stillness.
“Resilience” is a quiet kind of courage—the kind that lives deep in your bones.
A mirror for the part of you that keeps showing up, even when the season’s been long.

'Where Stillness Begins'
The Piece
“Where Stillness Begins” is a piece that feels different.
The soft, velvety black of the loon gliding across sepia-toned water... it’s a quiet that settles in your bones.
A hush that asks nothing of you—just your presence.
It’s about stillness, reflection, and those rare moments where the world softens enough for you to hear yourself again.
A sense of peace you can carry home.

The Art of Landing
The Piece
“The Art of Landing” is all about finding that quiet balance between effort and ease.
It’s a reminder that the work you’ve done matters—and so does the way you arrive.
That steady wingbeat, that trust mid-air… it all leads here.
Because the landing?
It can be just as beautiful as the flight.
The Moment
THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Before The Way Home ever took flight, there was 'The Moment'.
The piece that stopped me—because something clicked.
Not in technique, but in truth.
This is where it all shifted.
Without this piece, the softness and honesty in The Way Home wouldn’t exist.
It gave me permission to stop chasing perfection and start feeling for presence.
And once I felt it—I couldn’t go back.
It’s a piece about instinct. About knowing when to stop.
About letting something live and breathe on its own terms.
And in a way, it’s a portrait of freedom—the same freedom that flows through every bird in this series.
This little squirrel cracked something open.
It made space for softness.
For trust.
For all the quiet in-between.
So no, The Moment isn’t complete in the traditional sense.
But it’s whole in the way that matters.
