From Tan Lines to Turbulence
My Family's First Flight Vacation
We're back from our first 'flight' family vacation! I hope you didn't miss me too much while I was away . . . You did notice I was away, right? Right?!
Well, I missed you!
The weather was magnificent, the food delicious, and the travel was about what you would expect with a three-year-old.
Honestly, she did incredible. Braving the flight like it was nothing and swimming her way into bliss! When it came to sleeping, and the last few hours on the flight home we have a slightly different tale, but hey, even I don't sleep well away from home, so I consider it an incredibly tanned success.
Here are my biggest takeaways:
First of all, it takes a village to raise a child, but the support is more for you - so accept gracefully and enjoy the break.
Second, snacks on planes are essential, especially if you want to avoid a "hangry" meltdown.
Third, the customer service and speedy help in Canada are top-notch, like TOP-NOTCH, (we waited two hours for dinner to be served one night at our resort in Antigua).
Fourth, saltwater is the best, but coral cuts are not (Chad's bandaged up nicely, not to worry).
Finally, I was right to reapply that sunscreen.
It was a wonderful time, and my heart is happy to be home.
You're happy too, right?!
